ARIM | Week 6 : A break
This weeks blog will be short.
Week six my husband was home, and with an upcoming training and getting ready to move again, it was nice to spend some family time together.
I was able to order ink thanks to a few art sales and made a few new negatives, and did expose some prints this week. It’s nice to see this work finally looking like something.
Throughout the week I took film photographs, and we were able to get out of the house, where I took these two Polaroids.
I ended the week trying to develop some film. My original plan was to scan and share those images with this blog post. Unfortunately, I had an issue with development and two rolls I shot didn’t turn out. It’s always so heartbreaking to put in work shooting images for something to go wrong.
Chemicals are back ordered just about everywhere, so being able to home develop might be paused for quite awhile.
I still have some Polaroid film, and rolls of film to shoot, and will continue to make the cyanotype work.
self portraits may become digital for awhile while I wait for chemicals to become available, and get more funds for materials. With the stay at home order in California I’m unable to take portrait clients with my business, which usually covers my business expenses, bills and art. For now I’ll keep working with what I have on hand.
If you would like to support my Artist Residency in Motherhood, consider becoming a Patron. Through the generosity of my patrons each month, I am able to pay for this website, or purchase film to make more work.
